It is amusing to follow some of the label aimed at the gov. lately. "Socialist", "nazi", "commie", etc. The way I follow it, a heavier government involvement in medical care seems as if it would be closer to the communist model. The government would know all of your personal information, medical records, vaccine history, disease and health issues, etc, and this just seems strange to me, in a day and age of the corporate world and "data privacy" in regards to health issues. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
Rob, everything we fear from the government has already been given to private corporations. The government will not have more power over us if the health care reform goes through. It won't even have more power over insurance companies. It will just be able to offer a subsidized plan. This is not Big Brother, just a government doing the minimum it's supposed to do: protect its citizens.
I need insurnace myself but I don't want more control over my life. Makes for a confused mind.
