The New York Times has a post titled, "Explaining 9/11 to a Muslim Child" in its parenting blog, from a Muslim woman who's trying to explain 9/11 to her child, ending with "As I looked at Bilal in the rearview mirror, I explained that good and bad exists in every group, even your own. I think he understands."
The guys from Free Republic also have their say, in a thread named after the original NYT post, only adding the word [barf] at the end, because, you know, barf!
Here are some of the answers they present to the struggling mother of an 8-year-old boy:
Convert to a non-Satanic religion, renounce Islam, teach your boy how horrible Islam is and that it’s founder was a murderer, thief and pedophile, then strap explosives on your body and detonate them in a mosque.
No brainer. tell them to quit worshiping the moon god and worship the true Creator, Jesus Christ of Nazareth!
Tell him the truth, that you worship a cult that believes in murder, rape, lying, stealing, and maiming. You believe that the sick demented twisted trash that you pray to wants you to perform these acts in its name. Tell him that in all honesty (something you are unable to comprehend) that he would be better off worshipping a pile of dog crap than what you are forcing upon him. This would be a good start for you.
It's almost impossible not to be an extremist if you follow the teachings of the pedophile.

It's not easy to find the comment that stands out here. Maybe this one does because it's so confusing and self-contradictory: Christianity is the religion of forgiveness, but Liberals are blamed for forgiving. Something like that. I can't go on with reading these comments any longer.
Take the child out of the mental abuse cult while there’s still hope for him. Take him away from a cult of hate and introduce him to a religion of forgiveness.
Tell him that 1 billion people are mentally disturbed and supported the deliberate killing of 3,000 people at one time.
Tell him that liberals forgave the perpetrators and blamed the murders on the people who were murdered.

Erik, I'm trying to think where I read this comment before, and then I remember: it's word for word copied from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, just after the part where Jesus says the exact opposite. Plagiarism is a serious offense! SHAME ON YOU.
The oddity is rthat they seem to contradict the basis of Christian teaching in the name of Christ.
But this is not that confusing. They use Christianity as a label to identify themselves, and drape themselves in its symbols, but like the Pharrises in Jesus's time, they make those things worthless by removign their meaning.
They want the Culture to Identify as Christian, to have Crosses and POublic Prayers, to sing Hymns and Praise, and to keep the Familiar phrases and expressions of the Chritian Faith, but do not want the actual teachings that undergird that. Without Jesus on the Cross dyign for our sins, the Cross becomes meanignless. But while Jesus was on the Cross, he said "Forgive them, for htye know not what they do", and htis same Jesus said that we should love even our enemies, and do good otthem that harm us, and yet they want to kill all Muslims for they are al perceive s Enemies. This is not Christianity, this is simply an application of an outer shell f it. Like an Emoty CHruch with no worhsippers, this Faith they hold is powerless.
Zarove, see, that's what I'm saying. What you write there makes perfect sense to me, even as an Atheist. The need to constantly protect an imaginary attack on Christianity (or any other religion) seems to come more from insecurity than from true faith.
They are nuts on that site - you have a significant minorty who live on social security or va payments WANTING a government shut down cos they are too stupid to understand that "the government" is the sugar daddy allowing them to sit on their fat asses and post the stupid garbage they do....

I was attempting to be facetious and point out the ridiculousness of killing in the name of freedom, compassion and mercy.
