I blame McNut for King Obama’s election

/

After eight years of Bush, Republicans were ready for Change. They didn't want Obama's change, but they wanted change nonetheless. Things weren't going too well for anyone, and whether Republicans thought Bush didn't go far enough to the Right or that he went too far, they were all agreeing he was a failure.

So they voted for McCain, because even though he went along with Bush on so many issues, he was still seen as an independent thinker. And with his nomination, this was going to be the time of the Moderate Republican. The Party was going to reinvent itself, and McCain--the most Anti-Bush of the viable candidates--was chosen as the one to lead the Republicans toward a new era.

And then he picked Sarah Palin.

And then he lost the elections.

Now Republicans are back at square one. Did McCain fail because he was supposedly too much of a moderate, or did he fail because he picked Palin? Should Republicans support a big tent or go along with Palin-esque ideology of out-Bushing Bush?

Well, Free Republic reactions to the new McCain interview, acknowledging tensions between him and Palin, show where the hearts and minds of Republicans belong. Subtly.

WOW! Capt obvious, leader of the idiot rino brigade talks and proves he is fricken clueless moron.

Jeez - as bad as Obama is proving to be, about the only thing worse than him winning would have been McCain winning. And I worked on the McCain/Pailn campaign.

After 4 years of Obama ruining this country the electorate will be ready to vote for Donald Duck! Sarah can make a real killing.

Hmm... I guess she will take that as a compliment? Carry on.

HE SOLD HER DOWN THE RIVER FOR A PROMISE FROM THE CHOSEN ONE.

Not to mention that his fat daughter MEGHAN MCCAIN (smile) is another queer-lover and so is his wife...

Commenter LogicalMe, do you have anything to add?

I blame McNut for King Obama’s election. That pile of sh!! is the most stubborn egotistical peace of dung that the Republicans ever admitted to allowing the R back of his name. Even so, I would rather have him as President than the communists leader King Obama. Palin would have been a fantastic VP and might have kept that nitwit in line.

But look! A silver lining!

Yes, Barry is way worse in terms of policies than Juan would have ever been. He is much more radical and really seems to hate America. But Carter brought us Reagan, so I have my hopes up.

And the comment of the day belongs to deannadurbin. Democrats use fear to win elections. Yep.

I think the economic crisis of last October was completely manufactured. It scared the American people. Up until it became news McCain-Palin were ahead 8 points after the Republican Convention. Day by day I saw that lead shrink on the map as the media began to scream crisis on the economy.

When the American people are afraid they vote for Democrats. Which is why FDR got 4 terms. When Americans are fearless and strong and secure they vote for Republicans. Which is why Reagan got two terms.

See, and I thought it was the opposite. Because I'm stupid. And because the Cold War was all in my head.

Interesting. I think a lot of America's were so anti-bush that they weren't willing to even consider the republican candidate. I'm most curious to see what happens in 4 years if the economy is still as bad and we are still at war!

Personally, I think that the whole reason McCain lost was because he wasn't as Jesus loving, bat shit crazy, Bush balls tea-bagging enough as Mike Huckabee. Just you wait. In 2012 it will be Huckabee/Palin. Or maybe Palin/Huckabee. Or, dare we dream, Cheney/Palin.

Vivasuzi, yes, but McCain was unable to decide how he was running. Even though Bush was hated by many, Palin made herself to be a new Bush and did better than McCain, who ran as a Bush/anti-Bush. And I do hope (and believe) the economy will improve before the next election.

Blanca, you mean the Cheney father or daughter? The only problem with her as a candidate is that she's never shot anyone in the face, which could disappoint the base.
