About the Facebook Poll

As the news about the Facebook poll asking for opinions about the killing of the President quickly move from a single blog, The Political Carnival, to all news channels and blogs, it's interesting to see the reaction from the right.

On the one hand, major sites like Free Republic and FoxNews.com moderate their comments, and you can bet they've been working harder than usual to eliminate any hint of agreement with the poll.

So on Free Republic we get a mix of

And a little bit of

What do you all want to bet that this despicable poll was started by an Obamunist, possibly from the WH itself, to try to gin up a “Reichstag Fire” type of incident, enabling the Illegal Alien to establish complete totalitarian rule.

But no real drama there. Nothing out of the ordinary.

The Fox News website, however, had to provide the article without comments. At some point there were comments available, such as those calling for the assassination of Obama, Pelosi, and Biden, but seems like Fox News moderators got tired of filtering out those calling for political assassinations and decided to simply delete all comments.

Thus we were left with only the memory of (and no screen grab, I'm afraid):

well they need to do a 3 for one and get o-boy, pelosi and biden

So most major bloggers knew they were playing with fire here, and either put on their best face or completely ignored this item (Malkin, for one, going for the more important news about the guys who were kicked off a plane for Peeing while Middle-Eastern-Looking).

So you know that to get some good blogging about the Facebook poll one has to go to the real nuts.

For one, only the people who answered “yes” to this could be considered to be making a threat. The person asking the question can’t. For two, everyone involved, the one who posted this and those who responded, are all anonymous. So where is the actual threat?

I'm not sure I can follow that logic. Here's an insightful comment from GreenPassion.org, which isn't a political blog but a cannabis growing forum where Libertarians meet to discuss the spelling of the word President:

Darlene Keyser loves dogs (and wants to make Obama shaped targets for shooting ranges)

There's been some buzz about two people who've been treating their Twitter account as their own secret Dr. Hyde Venting Machines. One of them, who was dreaming of shooting Obama, has made his account private, and the other, who made more vague statements about how Obama should stay away from DC during the protest-for-hate time, deleted everything and left one message, apologizing.

But getting angry and pressing Enter is so easy, you know the haters aren't going to sit back as the danger of a Black Man in the White House is happening before their very eyes!

Meet Darlene. Darlene loves dogs. According to her MySpace page, she suffers from back pain. She also says she has a great sense of humor. And that Jesus is her hero.

One would expect this woman's Twitter page to be a mix of complaining about her back in 140 characters or less. But humorously! And with some Tweets about how despite everything, she's been blessed.

Oh, just to make it clear. No one is coming for you if you call the President an asshole. That's the whole 1st Amendment thing. As long as you're not making direct threats, you're fine. So no worries here.

Okay, that's better (these letters, by the way, stand for Big Mo Fo Whose In Charge. Yes, Whose). But still... not enough...

Explaining 9/11 to a Muslim Child [barf]

The New York Times has a post titled, "Explaining 9/11 to a Muslim Child" in its parenting blog, from a Muslim woman who's trying to explain 9/11 to her child, ending with "As I looked at Bilal in the rearview mirror, I explained that good and bad exists in every group, even your own. I think he understands."

The guys from Free Republic also have their say, in a thread named after the original NYT post, only adding the word [barf] at the end, because, you know, barf!

Here are some of the answers they present to the struggling mother of an 8-year-old boy:

Convert to a non-Satanic religion, renounce Islam, teach your boy how horrible Islam is and that it’s founder was a murderer, thief and pedophile, then strap explosives on your body and detonate them in a mosque.

No brainer. tell them to quit worshiping the moon god and worship the true Creator, Jesus Christ of Nazareth!

Tell him the truth, that you worship a cult that believes in murder, rape, lying, stealing, and maiming. It's not easy to find the comment that stands out here. Maybe this one does because it's so confusing and self-contradictory: Christianity is the religion of forgiveness, but Liberals are blamed for forgiving. Something like that. I can't go on with reading these comments any longer.

Take the child out of the mental abuse cult while there’s still hope for him. Take him away from a cult of hate and introduce him to a religion of forgiveness.
Tell him that 1 billion people are mentally disturbed and supported the deliberate killing of 3,000 people at one time.
Tell him that liberals forgave the perpetrators and blamed the murders on the people who were murdered.

Even though the crazies, headed by Glenif"ck, have managed to get a small victory this weekend by pushing an activist-turned-political adviser back into activism, the war against the President is far from over. First of all, he's from Kenya. And secondly, he's a Communist Nazi who pals around with domestic terrorists.

And then he's about to talk to the children about responsibility and about staying in school... But we all know what's his real agenda! I mean, other than making sure future generations can spell.

Take this video, for example. You might have to suffer through some shocking pink, but in the end it's worth it to see how Obama is just as bad as Hitler, Lenin, Kim Jong Il, and Ben, Michael Jackson's pet mouse, because they all had children sing about them.

In fact, the makers of the video, ObamaUnderground.com, ask on their homepage,

Do you feel as we do, that Obama and this communist regime of his aka his Administration is out to:

- Indoctrinate our children, just as Hitler, Lenin, and Kim Jong Il has done.

The president was elected based on a slick marketing campaign and a cult of personality, just like Hitler, whose ideas he represents.

Anthony Weiner is a Neo-Comm!

Watching Anthony Weiner brings out the optimist in me. It hints at the possibility of having a logical and respectful debate in a country where many find it too easy to label and move on.

For me and for others on the left, he's a politician in the best sense of the word, standing firm as a representative of the people against corporations that seek to diminish our lives and turn our existence into a "bottom line" argument.

For others, well, here's a sample from Hot Air:
